She’s not sitting around moping! Wendy Williams opened up about her love life to viewers on the Tuesday, May 14, episode of the Wendy Williams Show.
While the 54-year-old is going through a nasty divorce from husband Kevin Hunter, she’s enjoying no longer being hitched. “I am a single woman running around New York!” she said after explaining that the man she was spotted with on May 11 is just one of the guys on her security team. As the audience cheered her new status, she further noted, “Ya’ll, come on, now. … You don’t just throw away 25 years, lock, stock, and barrel.”
Williams filed for divorce from Hunter, who was an executive producer on her show, after 21 years of marriage. The two also share an 18-year-old son who is currently in college.
“As a mature, almost-single woman … you all can say what you want and you are entitled to. I certainly say what I want behind closed doors,” she told her viewers. “I go out a lot because I’m a good time girl. I like to have fun. I’m right now a young and pretty New York City girl. I have the ultimate bachelor pad, high atop everything! Have a really, really good view, and I’m really reclaiming my life.”
Then she shared how she’s not only reclaiming her life after her failed marriage, but also enjoying it with several gentlemen.
“I don’t have a boyfriend, but I must admit I am rediscovering my love of men. I do date, and I date pretty often!” she shared, naming some guy friends who have swung by her swank home. “And the parade of men will continue!”
But, Williams emphasized again about not having a boyfriend, “I’m still unpacking boxes, for god’s sake! That’s all I’m saying.”
While the TV personality said that she is working “pleasantly” on her divorce, on paper, it seems less friendly. In his response to her divorce filing, Hunter demanded spousal support, his legal fees, as well as child support for their son, who is no longer a minor.
Williams opted to ditch her husband after multiple reports surfaced that Hunter had not only been cheating, but had also fathered a love child with his mistress.
“Wendy’s been pushed too far. She said her life has becoming a living hell,” a source previously snitched to The National ENQUIRER before she filed for divorce. “The things that Kevin’s done to Wendy have left her a physical wreck and her reputation in tatters.”
