Matthew Perry Packs On Pounds To Play Boozing Ted Kennedy

Matthew Perry has gained some weight to play Ted Kennedy as a younger man — while Katie Holmes is looking radiant in her second turn as Jacqueline Kennedy on the set of a new biopic! The National ENQUIRER caught the former 'Friends' star and Tom Cruise's ex-wife on the Toronto set of "The Kennedys: After Camelot," where Canada filled in to provide a Massachusetts back yard barbecue!

Matthew looked heavier but healthier after a stint in London that left his fans — and medical experts — fearing that he'd suffered a stroke! The ENQUIRER caught the recovering addict frequently looking disheveled while working on a play in England. Shocking photos showed the star, once worth a whopping $70 million,seeming bloated, bleary-eyed and bewildered! 

The ENQUIRER, of course, reported on plenty of Ted Kennedy's own addictions and other scandals. "The Kennedys: After Camelot," however, is reportedly a much kinder portrayal of the political clan than 2011's "The Kennedys" — another miniseries that looked into the family's scandals, and was reportedly banned from major network television after the Kennedys flexed their political clout. That series also starred Katie as Jackie Kennedy, who's looking very comfortable in the role.

Katie's joining a long line of actresses who've played America's favorite First Lady. "The Kennedys: After Camelot" takes place after the assassination of JFK and his brother Robert Kennedy — with Katie possibly entertaining a child actor playing John Jr., and another boy who could be one of Robert's many offspring.

Alexander Siddig was also on set, with the actor playing Jackie's second husband Aristotle Onassis.

The camera caught a wardrobe malfunction for Katie's portrayal of Jackie in vintage '60s hose — but Katie still captured Jackie's glamour while hiding out from coverage of her secret romance with Jamie Foxx. The four-part miniseries is expected to air in early 2017.
