Ted Kennedy’s most shocking scandal has been exposed in the movie “Chappaquiddick” — but the studio chief has revealed how he was pressured to give up the project!

“Unfortunately,” said Byron Allen, who also served as executive producer of the film, “there are some very powerful people who tried to put pressure on me not to release this movie!”

In fact, The National ENQUIRER revealed how the movie’s producers had to put a positive spin on the early production just to get the project off the ground!

“Chappaquiddick” earned critical acclaim for its uncompromising look at how Ted Kennedy allegedly turned to his family to help cover up the death of Mary Jo Kopechne after a suspicious car accident in 1969.

The film’s official synopsis, however, stated that it was the story of how “Senator Kennedy becomes entangled in a tragic car accident that results in the death of [a] former Robert Kennedy campaign worker.”

The filmmakers also claimed that their story would show how the disgraced Senator “struggles to follow his own moral compass and simultaneously protect his family’s legacy.”

“Chappaquiddick” producer Mark Ciardi did his own part to suggest that the movie wouldn’t be taking on the Kennedy clan.

“This [script] strings together the events in a compelling and emotional way,” he said in 2015. “You’ll see what [Ted] had to go through!”
