Matthew Perry Looking Dazed In London

The National ENQUIRER caught Matthew Perry just a day away from the opening of his London play — and the slovenly star looks to be under a lot of pressure! He wrote the comedy about fortysomething friends pondering their lives, and critics have carped about Matthew using his star power to take over the London theatre scene. There's a lot of talk about how the struggling U.S. sitcom star came overseas because Broadway would be too hard on him!

And some early reviews are harsh, too! Preview audiences have already warned that the new play has a "virtually unusable" script where "clichés abound." The pricey tickets are also getting attention, with one person complaining that the experience doesn't offer anything deeper than "a good session with a 'Friends' [DVD] box set."

That has Matthew's pals concerned about a potential relapse for the druggie star! "Matthew's appearance is alarming,” an insider recently told The ENQUIRER. Photographers have found Matthew looking disheveled throughout his London trip, including a recent visit to a London eye hospital!

Pals have worried that Matthew — once worth a whopping $70 million — is on the verge of  going broke. The 46-year-old actor is also stressed over the poor reception for his rebooted version of the classic sitcom "The Odd Couple," which was barely renewed for a second season. Said the insider: "No one wants to see him return to his partying ways!”
