The National ENQUIRER revealed that Prince had died from an overdose of the opioid fentanyl, which was later confirmed by the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office after the star's body was found in an elevator at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota. Now an autopsy report has exposed the extent of his opioid addiction with an "exceedingly high" drug count — as Prince hid his deadly habit in plain sight by licking on drug-laced lollipops!

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that's 50 times more powerful than heroin — and the autopsy report shows that Prince had 67.8 micrograms of the deadly drug "per liter in his system." People have died from much smaller amounts — and even veteran addicts have overdosed at 58 micrograms per liter. Prince, however, had spent years using lollipops to openly binge on the painkillers to cover up his secret health issues.

Tragically, the music icon had suckered his fans and friends into believing he was drug-free for over two decades while secretly getting his kicks licking lollipops laced with a powerful painkiller. “Fentanyl comes in various forms, including lollipops,” noted anesthesiologist Dr. Barry L. Friedberg. “If Prince was sucking on fentanyl lollipops, his addiction to the drug was out of control.”

As a notoriously eccentric star, Prince was happy to pose with his secretly-drugged suckers — while the secret junkie preached against drug use. At the 1995 American Music Awards show, Prince refused to perform a song with musical rival Michael Jackson. Instead, he sucked on a lollipop. One source noted that The Purple One even offered Quincy Jones a lick of the lollipop — but as Jones leaned in for a taste, “he quickly yanked it away.”

Prince hid away even more drugs in his Paisley Park residence. Search warrants seen by The ENQUIRER showed that cops later unearthed several secret stashes, after insiders had told The ENQUIRER that the 57-year-old "Purple Rain" star had been “gobbling pain pills like popcorn.” Minnesota lawmen found Ziploc bags and envelopes filled with pills and more capsules scattered around the musician’s mansion.

Cops also found a suitcase marked with Prince’s alias of "Peter Bravestrong." The luggage was full of pill bottles for drugs like Oxycodone and Percocet. The coroner officially ruled that Prince died of an accidental overdose of fentanyl. Insiders then told The ENQUIRER that Prince's remains had been quickly cremated to protect his legacy — and to hush up his drug use, and cover up his secret battle with AIDS.
