Her account of the alleged rape dates back to April 1978 — when Juanita was 35 years old and Clinton was planning to run for governor while serving as Arkansas Attorney General. The 31-year-old politician had been married to Hillary Clinton for three years. Juanita was a campaign volunteer for his gubernatorial run, and recalled that she had been invited to see him when she was and another campaign worker traveled to the Camelot Hotel in the Arkansas capitol of Little Rock.

A planned visit to the coffee shop changed when, as Juanita recalls, Bill told here "There are too many reporters around. Why don't we have coffee in your room?" Juanita said: "Stupid me! I ordered coffee to the room — I thought we were going to talk about the campaign. Instead, the rising political star took her in her arms shortly after they both entered Room 824.

"He told me, 'We're both married people,'" Juanita said — confessing that she was also already "very involved" with another man — David Broaddrick, whom she would later marry in 1981 after a divorce. Clinton ignored her attempts as she "resisted quite strongly," and pinned her down on the hotel bed to penetrate her while biting hard on her lips.

She recalls Clinton later reassuring her that he was sterile, and that he couldn't get her pregnant. "I felt paralyzed and started to cry" said Juanita, "After it was all over, he just put on his sunglasses, adjusted his clothing and said, 'You'd better put some ice on that'" — referring to her bleeding lips. Juanita says that nurse Norma Rogers, who had traveled with her, later found her still sitting on the hotel room bed, and repeating: "I can't believe what happened."

Juanita didn't go to the hospital or police. "I felt very responsible for what happened," she said — adding that Clinton later attempted to make amends in 1991 at a political convention: "It was unreal. He kept trying to hold my hand. I can still remember his words: 'Can you ever forgive me? I'm not the man I used to be.' I told him, 'You go to hell!'"

She later found herself approached to speak out against Clinton when he was sued for sexual harassment by Paula Jones. She was listed as "Jane Doe No. 5" in the suit. With help from the White House, Juanita later filed an affidavit that she now admits was false — just as Monica Lewinsky did before her affair with Clinton was exposed, leading to a settlement with Paula's lawyers.
