Burt Reynolds worked himself to death taking roles in low-budget movies — and sadly passed away before he could make a comeback in one more star-studded production. Now director Quentin Tarantino has announced that Bruce Dern will replace Burt as George Spahn in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” Burt was set to work alongside stars like Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio in the movie, and would have been playing the real-life owner of the Spahn Ranch, where Charles Manson and his homicidal hippie cult plotted their sick reign of terror in 1969 Los Angeles. during Burt's funeral that “his heart gave out” while reading the script for a movie that was about to shoot in October. But, added insiders, that might not have been a new script for "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" — since the struggling star was still looking for more work
after making a final divorce payment to Loni Anderson!
