going through hell, things are finally looking up,” spilled an insider. As The ENQUIRER exclusively reported in 2015, Val had a cancerous
tumor in his throat — but the new photos suggest he's made an amazing recovery!

“He’s gained at least 25 pounds!” said
Dr. Gabe Mirkin, who has not treated the actor. “That’s very encouraging! Weight gain is a clear sign
his health has improved immensely, meaning he’s now able to eat and keep weight on.”

Dr. Mirkin pointed out that Val’s previously
emaciated state — the six-foot actor’s weight was estimated to be as low as 130 pounds
in 2016 — was a dangerous sign. “That kind of weight loss is usually an indication of impending death in a cancer patient,” he said.

“A loss of appetite usually means the cancer has spread or they’ve given up.” Val had frequently been spotted
wearing scarves around his neck, but he denied suffering from cancer. Despite that, he continued to waste away.

While Val appears healthy, he’s not out of the woods yet, although his chances are good. “There is data that patients who have mouth cancer are more likely to live longer if they adopt an anti-inflammatory lifestyle that includes avoidance of red meat, fried food and sugars,” Dr. Mirkin said.
