The "Top Gun" hunk’s throat is so ravaged by cancer that he can only speak in very hushed tones, and his voice had to be dubbed in his last movie. “The reality is he can’t act the way he used to because his throat has been damaged so badly. His voice still sounds very odd,” The National ENQUIRER learned from an insider.

“It’s really noticeable and hard to understand him," the source said. “This is a major problem for Val because he has to have his lines dubbed over. That’s obviously difficult and expensive for the studios. They might think twice about casting him in the future. He just can’t perform as well as he used to.”
