Meghan Markle’s father was reportedly getting ready for the royal wedding in staged photographs—even as his close friends feared for his health, and hoped he’d join his actress daughter in dieting for the occasion. The National ENQUIRER was first to reveal that Thomas Markle would walk his daughter down the aisle for the wedding on May 19 — as the former lottery winner planned to leave the Mexican town where he fled after falling $30,000 in debt and filing for bankruptcy. These pics from Rosorita, Mexico, showed that Thomas hadn't lost weight before pretending to be measured for a new suit just weeks before the ceremony. “Tom gorges
on burgers, burritos and tacos,” spilled an insider. “He can eat eight tacos in one sitting. Or he goes to a Carl’s Jr. and gets a couple of thick burgers, fries and a big soda or the cheesy nachos. Everything he eats is dripping in lard and salt!”

Another alarmed pal noted that Thomas still smokes like a chimney — and skips any exercise so he can stay on the couch and watch old movies all day. The 6'3"
commoner crushes the scales at an estimated 300 pounds. The royal wedding will also be the first time that Thomas has left his house to meet
Prince Harry — after speaking to him over the phone on a few occasions.

Insiders have also worried that the pressure of Meghan's royal wedding is putting a strain on their pal's health. “Since the news came out,” said his son, Tom Jr., “he’s become a total recluse. He loves Meghan, but hates the attention!” Still, Tom insisted that his dad would rally for Meghan's big day, saying: “He’ll be there when she marries her real-life prince!”
