Bill Cosby is trying to get multiple lawsuits against him put on hold as he fights to avoid dying in prison! Insiders were surprised earlier this week when the disgraced comic suddenly dropped a countersuit that he'd filed against supermodel Beverly Johnson — whom he accused of defamation after she wrote a magazine article detailing her claims that Cosby had drugged her as part of an attempted rape!

Attorneys for the former sitcom star are expected in L.A. Superior Court today to ask for their client to be giving a postponement of a deposition over charges made by Judy Huth — who claims Cosby molested her at the Playboy Mansion in 1974.

Pitbull L.A. lawyer Christopher Tayback — known as "Son of Mel" — had failed in an earlier request for a postponement, but also had Judge Craig Karlan agreeing that it was possible for Cosby's deposition on the Huth lawsuit to be postponed later.

Cosby's lawyers also blamed the Pennsylvania case for the dismissal of his lawsuit against Beverly Johnson, saying: “The case has been voluntarily dismissed at this time due to the pendency of the criminal proceedings in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, which impede Mr. Cosby’s ability to fully participate in litigating the civil case against Ms. Johnson" — but added that Cosby planned "to re-file the complaint...prior to the expiration of the statute of limitations.”
