Twisted comic legend Bill Cosby is spending big bucks on his legal defense for his Pennsylvania rape charge — and is now bringing in the pitbull attorney known as the Son of Mel!

That’s notoriously successful trail lawyer Christopher Tayback — whose father was late “Alice” star Vic Tayback!

Vic, who suffered a fatal heart attack in 1990, starred for nine seasons as cranky diner owner Mel Sharples on the hit CBS sitcom — and that money went towards a top law education for his legal eagle son.

Defense lawyer Brian J. McMonagle filed a court petition on Thursday to allow Cosby’s veteran attorney Monique Pressley to assist with Cosby’s case.

That’s when he dropped the bombshell revelation that Christopher — along with his colleague Joseph Sarles from the Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan law firm — was coming in from L.A. to join the defense!

McMonagle is the local lawyer for Cosby, but these new additions show that the disgraced TV star is ready to spend major bucks on beating the rap!

That includes an upcoming February 2 hearing where Cosby will seek to have all of the sexual assault charges completely dismissed.

The creepy comedian is facing a felony assault charge in Pennsylvania from a case filed in 2004, when former Temple University employee Andrea Constand told police she had been drugged and raped by Cosby in his home near Philadelphia.
