Police in Washington, D.C., are investigating a report from the elite private school attended by President Barack Obama’s daughters that a female student was sexually abused on campus by a classmate on Wednesday.
The alleged victim told police that she was attacked by a former boyfriend in the afternoon and evening hours, according to the incident report. The complaint is being investigated, and police have not been given any physical evidence.
“Right now, it’s still an active investigation,” said Dustin Sternbeck, a Metro Police spokesman. “No criminal charges have been brought against either party.”

Sidwell Friends, founded in 1883 by Quakers, boasts an annual tuition of $37,750, and has been described as the Harvard of Washington private schools. President Obama’s daughters, Malia, 17, and Sasha, 14, have been enrolled there ever since the family moved to Washington in 2009. Former first daughters Chelsea Clinton and Tricia Nixon also graduated from Sidwell Friends.
Ellis Turner, the associate headmaster at Sidwell Friends, said in an email that the school is cooperating fully with the investigation and, per school policy will not comment further.
The president recently announced plans for the family to stay in Washington after he leaves office in January so the girls can still attend Sidwell Friends — at least until Sasha graduates.
