There wasn't anything glamorous about Roseanne when her hit show launched in 1988. That's how she liked it, too. Lecy Goransen, who played Becky, recalled the auditions: "I thought she’d be like Meredith Baxter Birney with an apron on, and instead Roseanne comes in with her sweatpants on and no makeup. She was, like, 'Heeey!' I’m, like, 'Oh, s#!t!'"

By 1993, however, Roseanne was looking a little different. She had treated herself to a face lift, a nose job, some cheek implants, and more. The star was still healing when Season Six started filming, however, and fans noticed the heavy makeup that covered up bruising on her face.

In 1996, Roseanne's sitcom family made a big change after the family won the lottery. The character of Roseanne Conner quickly declared: "I'm getting me a ton of plastic surgery." By then, however, the show's opening credits showed the cast aging over the years — with Roseanne's real-life work made really clear by 1998!

Roseanne later revealed that she'd also invested in gastric bypass surgery that same year, with more surgery following. “It was a little more than a tuck,” she said — adding in 2003: "I need more. I want to get butt implants and a waist." And as seen in 2008, she had kept busy as a work in progress!

And in 2016, Roseanne was still at it. “Hey, thank you guys so much for all of the nice words about my weight loss," she said to fans — but added that she'd undergone more work. She even shocked fans with a pic of her reddened face after a chemical peel, while joking about "tussling [Bill] Cosby."

But with the idea of rebooting "Roseanne" just a germ, she declared that she was done with plastic surgery. “I’ve come to the point where I look great,” she said. “and I’m not going to give it any more energy!” Now she's looking more natural at the age of 65!
