Prince Harry says that he grew up in "chaos" after the tragic death of Princess Diana — adding that he was often "close to a complete breakdown" after losing his mother! The troubled royal confessed: "I can safely say that losing my mum at the age of 12 — and therefore shutting down all of my emotions for the last 20 years — has had a quite serious effect on not only my personal life, but my work as well." Facing the 20th anniversary of his mother's death, Harry added in an interview that the prince handled Diana's passing by "sticking my head in the sand, refusing to ever think about my mum, because why would that help?"

The troubling confession also confirms The National ENQUIRER's coverage of the troubled prince's young life and hidden stint in rehab! The ENQUIRER revealed in 2020 that Prince Harry had turned to drugs after Diana's death. "The ugly truth is Harry's been drinking and smoking marijuana since he was 13," said a royal insider about the young royal, then 17 years old. Top sources had also revealed that Prince Charles had insisted on therapy as Harry became a royal embarrassment.

"The royal family is trying to hush things up," said a source at the time, "but Charles orders him to visit rehab over drugs, booze & wild women!" Other sources even reported that Harry had threatened suicide shortly after his 17th birthday — complaining to friends about his family: "They drove Mom crazy. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of her. Sometimes I think it would be good to join her."

Harry went on to join Prince William and sister-in-law Kate Middleton to set up a charity called Heads Together that provides mental-health counseling — and added that he'd been to therapy "a couple of times, more than a couple of times, but it's great." And while Harry later went through sex scandals and other palace intrigue, he now insists that he's "in a good place" emotionally while getting closer to actress Meghan Markle. "I know there is huge merit in talking about your issues," he said, "and the only thing about keeping it quiet is that it's only ever going to make it worse."
