But in a twist, three weeks before his death, Scotto said his deathbed confession had more to do with revenge than a book deal. Scotto said that shortly before Christmas 2017, he learned Simpson, who had served as best man at his second wedding in 2007, had bragged about sleeping with his then-fiancée.
