As reported by The National ENQUIRER, Laura Leal called cops to Nick's mother's home in Stanford, Fla., to report that she had been physically assaulted by her boyfriend. Now she's speaking out to say that she could have ended up like Bobbi Kristina, who died in hospice several months after being found unconscious in a bathtub during a wild party!

"I've been reading the reports about Bobbi Kristina, and I'm physically shaking," Laura told DailyMail.com. "I read about her being isolated, her family not knowing where she was, the manipulation, the bullying — it's the exact same thing. That could have been me. Only the Grace of God saved me!"

Laura claimed that her relationship with Nick — who was found "legally responsible" for Bobbi Kristina's death in a court case — had already turned violent before she called the police on him. "It started with a push and a slap," she said. "It would happen at least once a week. I would have to put makeup on my bruises to cover them up, especially on my face. But I blamed myself. I thought it was my problem, and that I had to work harder at the relationship to make it work."

"I didn't ever see him take heroin or crack," she added, "but now I'm wondering if he was doing that behind my back." In addition to assault charges, Nick (seen here in his mugshot) is also facing charges of kidnapping for refusing to let Laura leave the house — with Laura saying that she was only able to escape by rushing into the bedroom of Nick's mother.

"She is a great woman," said Laura. "She saved my life" — adding that some people couldn't understand why she hadn't fled the house earlier in the evening. "I would never have made it," she said. "He was capable of anything!"
