The guilty plea was a big catch in the fishing expedition by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, with Flynn accused of falsely stating that he hadn't discussed Kremlin sanctions with a Russian ambassador in Dec. 2016. He's also accused of misleading investigators about a conversation regarding a UN Security Council resolution. The retired general was earlier
fired as the President's adviser after lying about attending the meetings held before Trump took office.

After that resignation, Trump was accused of asking
FBI Director Robert Comey to drop any further investigations into Flynn. A memo later made by Comey about the alleged request has been cited by some D.C. insiders as proof that Trump is guilty of obstructing justice!

Others, however, say the Mueller investigation is part of
Barack Obama's "Deep State" spies w
orking to discredit the Trump administration. "The Obama cronies at the State Department tapped Flynn’s phone as he spoke with the Russian ambassador," said veteran D.C. insider
Dick Morris. Some sources still believe Flynn is planning to dodge a prison sentence by cooperating even more with Mueller!

In a defiant twist, however, Flynn released a statement saying that he accepted full responsibility for his actions — but blasted other claims made against him. "It has been extraordinarily painful to endure these false accusations of 'treason' and other outrageous acts," he wrote, adding: "Such false accusations are contrary to everything I have ever done and stood for."
