Melanie Griffith is speaking out about being a plastic surgery disaster — declaring that she regrets going under the knife! The "Working Girl" star is bitterly blasting her choices about a series of operations that "she had over 20 years ago" that rendered her beautiful face barely recognizable. And sources tell The National ENQUIRER that she's terrified daughter Dakota Johnson will follow her example!

"I didn't [realize] until people started saying, 'Oh my god, what has she done?!' I was so hurt," the 59-year-old actress told an interviewer from Porter magazine. "I went to a different doctor, and he started dissolving all of this s--t that this other woman doctor had put in. Hopefully, I look more normal now." Sadly, Melanie now has to worry that Dakota will follow the same path after her stardom in the "Fifty Shades" series.

An insider told The ENQUIRER that Melanie broke down and warned her daughter in 2008 about the costs of her own surgery. "Melanie broke down in tears and begged Dakota to promise to age gracefully," said the insider — adding: "Melanie says the best advice she can give her daughter is for her to learn from her mom's mistakes!"

In the past, Melanie has admitted to having her breasts enhanced, plus collagen injections. But expert surgeons had already told The ENQUIRER that she had actually done much more. Dr. Brian Glatt appraised: "I believe she's had both her upper and lower eyelids done, as well as a brow-lift and a chin implant — which appears to be too wide."

Melanie also spoke out about her failed marriages to Dakota's dad Don Johnson, saying: "The minute I met him, I had this mad f--cking teenage crush on him! I fell in love immediately. Don was actually waiting for me when I got out of rehab. We got back together; it was the most natural, perfect, loving thing. Then it just sort of wasn't working. I think it's hard when you are both in the public eye, unless one of you gives up work."

She addressed the end of her marriage to Antonoio Banderas, as well: "I think part of the reason my marriage to Antonio fell apart was because I was stuck — nobody else is to blame. It's just that I personally got stuck and I won't let that happen again. I want to enjoy life. I want to do whatever I want to do."

Sadly, Melanie's regrets over her past surgeries might also be affecting her love life now. "I'm shy with men now, very reticent," she said. "I haven't met anyone in the almost two years [Antonio and I] have been divorced. No, I don't go on dates. Nobody has asked me on a date. I go out with my girlfriends."
