The body of Gest was
found in his hotel room at London’s Four Seasons hotel on April 12. He'd suffered from pneumonia, and recently made news in the UK by having to leave the house for medical reasons during a season of "Celebrity Big Brother." Liza had married the bizarre showbiz producer in a lavish wedding on March 16, 2002. The couple would be officially separated by March of 2003.

Gay rumors haunted the couple from the beginning. Shortly after their 2002 wedding, soap star Ruth Warrick revealed that she dated David for 15 years to give the appearance he was straight. David denied it, but Ruth warned, “If Liza was expecting passion on her wedding night — believe me, she’s still waiting!”

In an apparent effort to quell the whispers, Liza — who's now suffering
her own health crisis — boasted to The ENQUIRER: “I have a husband who loves me in every way a woman dreams of being loved. We have the best sex ever. It makes me feel alive.”

But the proud lovers soon split up — with
the dirty divorce turning into a bigger spectacle than their wedding! David claimed Liza beat him so badly that he needed to be hospitalized. Liza, who denied the beat-down, claimed he tried to poison her.

Gest even claimed "the best sex ever" resulted in Liza giving him herpes! “Liza has never stopped hating him,” said a source. “The marriage was bad from the start and he publicly humiliated her. She never has forgiven him — and never will!"
