The evidence once again points to
Glenn Meyer — the now-deceased drifter secretly living in a basement apartment across the street (left) from the Ramsey family’s home. Detectives in Boulder, Colo., are now vigorously tracking down Meyer’s accomplices, according to the recently revealed audiotape.

Roscoe J. Clark — founder of the online group JonBenét Investigation — has divulged that he was interrogated for two hours by Boulder Detective Sarah Cantu, who wanted to know more about The ENQUIRER’s findings, which he frequently posts on his Facebook website.

“She was very interested in the new information about Glenn Meyer (left),” Clark dished. “We discussed your research and how you found out Meyer had a shrine in his house dedicated to JonBenét. She took a lot of notes on that because she found it interesting,” said the sleuth.

In February, The ENQUIRER was the first to interview Meyer’s widow, Charlotte Hey (right, with Meyer), who claimed her ex-husband was responsible for six-year-old JonBenét’s murder on Dec. 25, 1996. “When I asked him if he murdered her, he would just smile at me. He wouldn’t deny it,” Charlotte recalled.

The widow (left) also revealed that shortly after JonBenét’s death, Meyer fled to Indiana and spent his final days in an apartment where he built a shrine to the slain child using pictures and news clippings.

In January, when confronted with the new evidence that Meyer was the monster who killed his daughter, John Ramsey said: “I do recall him coming to our door the night of our family Christmas party which was just before Christmas.

“I don’t remember why but up to that point we did not know he was living across the street in the basement.” The ENQUIRER also reported a second man was spotted fleeing the Ramsey home, and it’s believed he helped Meyer carry out the grisly sexual assault and strangulation of the child.

John later confirmed he had been told “There was more than one person involved — I’m not sure why,” citing information gathered by a private investigator who had also implicated Meyer. And as The ENQUIRER has reported,
Meyer's handwriting matches that of the ransom note sent to Ramseys.

Roscoe said Det. Cantu told him she was working with the special cold-case task force established by crusading Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty (left) to solve JonBenét’s murder, among other crimes. “I am not at liberty to talk about the case,” Det. Cantu said.

Although the probe remains open, those within the private-investigation community said it’s only a matter of time before it comes to a close. In May, D.A. Dougherty said his team of investigators planned to tap the same
genealogy databases investigators used to nail the elusive
Golden State Killer.

Such databases store the DNA of millions of people who voluntarily submit their genetic codes to learn about their ancestry. JonBenét’s heartsick father is so desperate for answers, he’d said he’s willing to have her remains exhumed for new DNA testing if it could help solve the
21-year-old crime.

Pieces of the duct tape and cord that matched those used to bind and strangle JonBenét, as well as rubber gloves, were “in the trash can across the street” at the home where Meyer was living, according to Roscoe, who added: “From what Glenn Meyer’s wife said about the shrine, to a witness who saw him at the scene, all the evidence is right in front of police!”
