Glen’s romance in 1980 with Texas Tornado Tanya came on the rebound from his four-year marriage to
Sarah Berg — the fickle bride he'd famously swiped away from good buddy and fellow country crooner
Mac Davis. Sarah split just three weeks after giving birth to Glen's son,
Dylan, and yet the
Campbell-Tucker romance proved even rockier!

Tanya was just 21 and Glen was 44. Their drug-and-booze-fueled affair burned hot — and eventually flamed out in 1981, when Glen kicked Tanya to the curb and
she accused him of abuse.

His great lost love, Glen once confessed, “Tanya and I were terrible for each other, as far as drugs were concerned. We were drowning in a sea of white powder,” he told Tom Carter while preparing his 1994 autobiography, "Rhinestone Cowboy." But insiders say his biggest sorrow came from never marrying the "Delta Dawn" singer, as she was his soulmate.

“It was a love that will never be again,” says Tanya of her relationship with Glen. “That was it for me. I’ve never been married or anything, I guess because I always did love him, and that’s never gonna change.”

After his breakup with Tanya, Glen wed Radio City Music Hall Rockette
Kim Woollen (left) in 1982, and the pair remained married until his death. Glen had
finally dried out for good after a boozy relapse saw him arrested for DUI in 2003, but tragedy struck in 2011 when he revealed
to his family and fans he’d been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

Glen’s old love Tanya begged for a chance to see him before his death. “I said, ‘Just let me say goodbye.’” Eventually, she was allowed a video phone call with Glen, and remembers: “I was talking to him, going, ‘Remember me? I’m Tanya, we used to love each other.’ When I was done, he kissed the phone. So I got that, at least.”
