But now Netflix has announced that Masterson is off the sitcom, saying: "Netflix and the producers have written Danny Masterson out of 'The Ranch.' [Dec. 4] was his last day on the show, and production will resume in early 2018 without him." But the decision isn't just costing Masterson money — it's also putting his stalled police investigation back in the spotlight!

As earlier reported by The ENQUIRER, Masterson has been accused by three female
Church of Scientology members of raping and sodomizing them between 2001 and 2003. The alleged victims added that they were then pressured by the cult to not call police. The ENQUIRER also reported that Masterson had hired high-powered criminal defense attorney Tom Mesereau for his defense.

This shows “just how seriously” Masterson is taking the accusations, said Tony Ortega, an author and reporter who’s covered Scientology. “Mesereau already made contact with the LAPD to tell them Masterson denies the rape allegations, and with the help of private investigator Scott Ross, has been gathering witnesses to back up Masterson’s denials,” said Ortega.

Contacted by The ENQUIRER, Mesereau confirmed Masterson has hired him and stressed the actor has not been charged with any crime. But after a months-long investigation, the charges against Masterson haven't been filed — despite one law-enforcement source telling HuffPost that the evidence against the actor is "overwhelming."

Victim A, who claims she was “anally raped and injured” by Masterson, “discovered just last year she wasn’t the only one who had reported to the church that Masterson had attacked her,” said Ortega. After Victim A came forward last fall, the LAPD reactivated another case that had been reported in 2004.

Then a third woman, Victim C, surfaced. Victim B claims she was raped at a party attended by many Scientologists. Masterson’s rep Jenni Weinman is listed as a witness in the police report. Sources report that the case was actually stalled from the start, with the Church of Scientology submitting over 50 affidavits from Scientologists denying one alleged victim's account.

Victim A, however, has accused the LAPD of giving in to pressure from the church. In a February letter to the LAPD — obtained by Ortega — she asserts that the alleged victims hadn’t even been interviewed. “You have a serial rapist on your hands," she wrote, “and the Church of Scientology has threatened us, silenced us and covered it all up. I am begging for a fair and honest investigation.”
