Celine Dion announced that she’s ending her lucrative Las Vegas residency in June 2019, describing in a statement her 15-year run as “an amazing experience” — capping a year in which she’d been overcome by fears she’d lost her golden voice forever! Earlier this year, the “My Heart Will Go On” singer crumbled into crying fits and was near a shattering mental breakdown before docs saved her and her career with “secret surgery” inside her skull! Unknown to the musical megastar, she was suffering from patulous eustachian tube, a condition that caused her to hear internal body noises, such as her own breathing and swallowing, along with normal sounds. The inner-ear disorder raised concerns that she’d never be able to sing again, leaving her an emotional mess, The National ENQUIRER learned from sources. “When she couldn’t hear herself singing like she normally does, she nearly had a breakdown,” snitched an insider. “She was hearing noises and gurgling sounds and it scared her.” Docs first treated her with drops, but “they weren’t doing anything — Celine was crying all the time. She was literally in mourning over her voice.”

She suffered for over a year until the medics “convinced her to have surgery,” the source said. Dr. Gabe Mirkin says the op is “not minor surgery” and “a big deal,” but without it, she might never sing again!

“Your eustachian tube goes from the middle ear to the back of the throat," Dr. Mirkin explained. "Sometimes it stays open the whole time — that’s what she had. She was hearing sounds that aren’t sounds … hear herself swallowing. It would confuse her. She couldn’t sing with it.”

The doc, who hasn’t treated the star, also warns the condition “can be brought on by stress, fatigue and weight loss. There is association between rapid weight loss and a eustachian tube that doesn’t close.”

“I had a little health issue — don’t we all,” she told her audience. “But I have to tell you, I’m extremely happy to be back. “The stage is kind of my home away from home. I don’t take anything for granted.”
