Carrie Underwood announced that she’s pregnant with her second child just days after causing some controversy — saying that she and husband Mike Fisher had “missed our chance to have a big family” because she was already 35 years old! That got her blasted by some fans who said Carrie was being insensitive to struggling would-be mothers. But what Carrie reportedly kept to herself was that her marriage had been strained over having a second child! Insiders revealed to The National ENQUIRER that Carrie and Mike had been fighting over kids since the birth of their son Isaiah in 2015. But with Carrie coming back from a ‘gruesome’ accident with both a pregnancy and a tour, it seems the new baby may have also saved the country diva’s troubled marriage!

Close sources told The ENQUIRER that Carrie and Mike had been arguing over a second child ever since Isaiah was born. “Early in their marriage, Carrie agreed with Mike that she wanted a large family,” said an insider. “But now she’s backtracking, and Mike is furious!” Instead, said the source, Carrie had found motherhood exhausting, and was ready to concentrate on showbiz.

“She’s been on an emotional roller coaster,” said the insider, “having meltdowns over her weight gain, and even over choosing a family car!” The celeb couple had married in July 2010, with hockey star Mike saying in interviews that he wanted to have at least seven children. Carrie, however, was insisting she only wanted two or three kids even before Isaiah was born.

“As part of their original bargain, Mike agreed to stay in Nashville before moving to Ottawa to raise their family,” said the family friend — adding that the NHL star had even signed an $8.8 million two-year contract with the Nashville Predators to keep the family settled after Isaiah was born. But while the couple's celebrating their second child, Carrie's already added: "We always talk about adoption, and doing it when our child or children are a little older.”
