Camille's show of support came at the end of a tough legal battle for Cosby. The defense had spent its final days attempting to portray
Andrea Constand as a gold digger who willingly had a sexual encounter with Cosby in 2004, and later extorted him for money with claims that she had been drugged and sexually assaulted.

It was the first public appearance by Camille since the recent tragic death
of her daughter Ensa. During the previous trial in 2017 — which ended in a hung jury — Camille had been at her husband's side throughout the defense. Ensa had also come forward to give interviews, and insisted that her father was "being punished" by "society." She added: "The politics of my country prove my disgust!"

But while Camille was at her husband's side, she was outnumbered by three
women who have also accused Cosby of drugging and sexually assaulting them. Lili Bernard,
Victoria Valentino and Theresa Serignese maintained their own vigil at the back of the courtroom — and were rewarded with seeing Cosby found guilty on three counts of sexual assault
