Here’s a weekend update: Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost are engaged! The actress’s publicist confirmed to the Associated Press on Sunday, May 19, that the incredibly private couple are set to tie the knot after dating for two years.
The couple have not yet set a date, the publicist noted.
Dating rumors started flying in May 2017 after the two were spotted kissing at the Saturday Night Live afterparty for the season 42 finale, during which she made a guest appearance. Just a month before that, Johansson, 34, filed for divorce from her husband of three years, French journalist Romain Dauriac.
The Avengers: Endgame star and the SNL Weekend Update co-anchor made their relationship public in November 2017 when they walked the red carpet at the American Museum of Natural History Gallery in New York City. Since then, they have also offered small peeks into their romance, with Johansson even appearing in the closing of a December 2017 episode of SNL to hold hands and ice skate around Rockefeller Center’s rink with Jost, though she was not a guest on the show that week.
Us Weekly exclusively reported in February that the relationship was going so well the two had moved in together.
“Colin is head over heels for Scarlett,” a source close to the 36-year-old SNL star snitched. “He thinks she is incredible, kind, beautiful. He is beyond doting on her and loves showing her off when they’re out.”
“They have talked about marriage and are fully committed to each other,” the source added, noting that the actress is equally smitten with the comedian.
And Johansson’s little girl Rose, whom she shares with Dauriac, likes Jost pretty well too. Dished the insider: “Colin is also close to Scarlett’s daughter, and they have a lot of date nights together as a family.”
This will be the third marriage for the actress, who was also previously wed to Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2011. Josh has not been married before.
