The “uncoupling” of his marriage to Gwyneth Paltrow drove Coldplay frontman Chris Martin to the brink of suicide, friends have claimed!
The duo’s marriage ended in March 2014, and now Chris’ ex-manager is saying that he was worried for the singer’s “safety” in the gloomy months leading up to the split.
“Chris had a really bleak period,” said Phil Harvey. “He was in pain and struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel. We were all worried about him.”

Chris, 39, married Gwyneth, 43, in 2003, but their union went from smooth sailing to rough waters by late 2011.
At the time, reports had them sniping over everything from her desire to become a country singer to giving daughter Apple and son Moses another sibling.
“When someone’s really, really low and on their own a lot, as a friend, your mind goes to the worst-case scenario,” Phil noted of Chris’ despair. “That period didn’t last forever — but there was a time when we were all regularly checking in on him, just trying to make sure he wasn’t on his own.”
