The New York Post’s “Page Six” reports that Charlie signed on after his appearance earlier this week on “The Dr. Oz Show” — as previewed by The ENQUIRER — brought in the show’s best ratings since this past April.
His brave new commitment to being the public face of HIV isn’t surprising to readers of RadarOnline, with the site revealing last year how Charlie has secretly supported HIV and AIDS charities for decades.
Charlie has still taken flack from some AIDS activists over his recent search for alternative HIV treatments in Mexico.

Peter Staley, who campaigns for affordable AIDS medications, said that Sheen’s trip across the border was “spitting in the face of the men and women who have done the hard work and who have saved his life.”
The activist had also accused Charlie of seeking “a nice ongoing paycheck” from Dr. Oz.
Sheen’s manager, Mark Burg, responded: “Instead of activists saying [Charlie] is spitting in [their] faces, how about thanking him for risking his life and becoming a guinea pig for HIV research?”
