Britney Spears announced Jan. 4 that she was taking an “indefinite work hiatus” to help with her father’s recuperation from a life-threatening health crisis!
As The National ENQUIRER has reported in the past, dad Jamie Spears controls his daughter’s business affairs as her court-approved conservator.
The arrangement went into effect after the epic 2008 public meltdown in which she shaved her head, attacked paparazzi and was arrested for a hit and run.

Now one of the world’s highest earning female musicians, the singer as about to launch a “Britney: Domination” run at the new Park MGM resort in Las Vegas, but the show’s now “on hold until further notice,” Britney announced.
“After everything that Jamie sacrificed to help his daughter when she was not well, Britney did not even think twice about putting her entire schedule on hold when he was rushed to the hospital,” a source told The ENQUIRER.
“Family is so important to her and the Spears clan are so tight,” the source continued. “It was horrifying and they really thought that he was not going to make it. To Britney and the kids, Jamie is their world. She cannot even begin to think about what life would be like if he dies.”

While the crisis first came to light in this announcement, Jamie Spears reportedly was first hospitalized two months ago after his “colon spontaneously ruptured.”
After immediate surgery, he spent the next 28 days in a Las Vegas hospital and has been convalescing at home since his release.
An insider told The ENQUIRER the crisis acted as something of a wake-up call to Jamie, who “has not led the most healthy life” but is now “determined to turn that all around.”
As for the once-upon-a-time Disney star Britney, “she just wants to be left alone and for everyone to respect her privacy.”
