WATCH: Mel Brooks Out To De-Pants Obama

Mel Brooks may be 90 years old, but he's still a kid at heart — and couldn't resist going for a gag as President Obama presented him with the 2015 National Medal of Arts at the White House. The still-spry (and notoriously cheap) comic cracked up the photographers by going for Obama's pants!

It was a welcome honor for Mel, who's currently outliving too many of his younger costars. His "Blazing Saddles"  star Gene Wilder recently passed away in August 2016, while "Young Frankenstein" beauty Terri Garr is out of the spotlight while battling multiple sclerosis.  

Cloris Leachman — who starred in "Young Frankenstein," and with Mel in "High Anxiety" — is the same age as Mel, but is in poor health and often confined to a wheelchair. Meanwhile, some uptight reporters refused to get the joke, and preferred to report that Mel pretended to fall down from the weight of the medal.
