Our spies say the 56-year-old “American Idol” grouch has gone from mean to mellow — all because he’s become a dad to 1-year-old son Eric.
The TV and music mogul is even considering an encore performance with partner Lauren Silverman, who used to be his best pal’s wife.

“We do want to have more children of our own,” confessed Simon, “but we could adopt as well. I wouldn’t rule out that happening. It’s a good idea.”
Pals close to the new “America’s Got Talent” judge said that Mr. Nasty doesn’t want Eric to take after his crabby self.
He says he’s concerned about little Eric, currently the sole heir to Simon’s $500 million fortune, becoming a “brat.”

So he and Lauren have been teaching the young tot about manners and to “always be kind to animals.”
And, amazingly, the besotted dad, who once swore he’d never marry, is hearing wedding bells!
