In January 2016, she was “shocked” to be diagnosed with intestinal cancer — even as she struggled with failing kidneys. Ready to give up, Tina said she joined Exit — an assisted suicide organization in her adopted home country, Switzerland — “just in case.”

She recounted Erwin saying he’d do anything to keep them together — and gave her one of his kidneys! But the drugs used to keep her body from attacking the new organ have horrific side effects, which she said include “dizziness, forgetfulness, anxiety and the occasional bout of insane diarrhea.”

And sickly Tina experienced even more heartache this year when her
59-year-old son, Craig Turner (top, right), died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on July 3. “Tina has struggled for so long,” confided a pal. “It’s a miracle she’s still alive.”
