Benjamin Paddock — known to his fellow criminals as "Chromedome" — made the FBI's Most Wanted List after breaking out of a federal prison in 1968 . Also known as "Old Baldy," the career criminal had been serving a 20-year sentence in a Texas prison — after trying to run over FBI detectives in Las Vegas while on the run for bank robbery charges.
Paddock had multiple aliases, and was described by the FBI as a "glib- talking con man" who was "egotistical and arrogant." The agency also considered him to be extremely dangerous, saying that Chromedome had been "diagnosed as a psychopath with possible suicidal tendencies."
