Sinead O’Connor has turned her back on the Catholic church, with the troubled Irish songbird revealing that she’s now a Muslim named “Shuhada’ Davitt!” The suicidal pop star taken the Muslim moniker of “Magda Davitt” in 2017, but waited until Oct. 2018 to declare: “I am proud to have become a Muslim…I will be given (another) new name. It will be Shuhada’.” But the famously outspoken and troubled singer has quickly caused more controversy, declaring: “What I’m about to say is something so racist, I never thought my soul could ever feel it. But truly I never wanna spend time with white people again (if that’s what non-muslims are called). Not for one moment, for any reason. They are disgusting.” That prompted several of her new Muslim followers to chide the transformed “Nothing Compares to U” singer, with one writing: “Easy, sister. All are equal in the eyes of Allah…”

Sinead revealed the depths of her depression during a Facebook rant she taped from a seedy New Jersey hotel roo in August 2017. In the disturbing video, Sinead sobbed: There’s absolutely nobody in my life except…my psychiatrist…and that’s the only thing keeping me alive at the moment!”
