Peterson
blamed his conviction on Nichelle as a "stealth juror," and — as originally reported by
The National ENQUIRER — went after her in appeal papers filed in 2016. Court documents claimed that aspiring juror Richelle answered “no” when asked if she had ever been the victim of a crime, involved in a lawsuit or participated in a trial as a witness.

“In fact,” claimed the appeal, “when Ms. Nice was four-and-one-half months pregnant in November of 2000, she and her unborn baby were threatened, assaulted and stalked!”

Peterson's appeal said that Richelle was motivated by her own experiences to go after Peterson, charging: “Ms. Nice suppressed this information...in an apparent attempt to gain a spot on Mr. Peterson’s jury.” And while the California court says that “Peterson offers no persuasive reason to have the court reconsider its prior decisions,” Richelle also helped Peterson's case by writing to him in jail!

Richelle contacted Peterson while working on a book with fellow jurors in 2006 called "We The Jury" — and legal experts believed that the manuscript showed that the former fertilizer salesman didn't get a fair trial. "Clearly, the book calls into question the motivation of some jurors," said criminal defense attorney Craig Silverman — citing the implication that the jurors knew a guilty verdict would make a better book.

The juror, however, insisted in 2006 that Peterson's prison letters were really an attempt to seduce her after the trial. "His letters are emotionally manipulative and an obvious attempt to try to humanize himself," said famed attorney Gloria Allred, who represented Richelle.

Richelle also spoke out to say that Peterson had used the letters to flatter her — and that she was reminded of how Peterson treated his
infamous mistress Amber Frey. Richelle said: "It reminds me of the letters he wrote to Amber — just BS'ing!"
