Michael Douglas Hits The Beach

Michael Douglas is putting up a brave front and struggling to live as normally as possible — but the illness that has been ravaging his body is not an easy one to defeat. Michael looks much improved here, strolling on the beach today and romping in the surf at Cancun, Mexico.

The 71-year-old “Wall Street” actor has been attacked again by cancer — though his rep insists Douglas is disease-free! Insiders, however, note Douglas has been quietly selling assets and updating his will.

Michael and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones celebrated his 15^th wedding anniversary this past fall. The couple have been going strong since briefly separating in 2013 after Douglas first revealed that he had beaten cancer.

More recently, Michael showed up at Super Bowl 50, where his gaunt appearance shocked fans and made everyone fear that the end is near.

Michael went to “hell and back” during the cancer crisis that nearly claimed his life in 2010. Back then, he was diagnosed with a walnut-size tumor at the base of his tongue — and endured eight grueling weeks of chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The 5-foot-11 actor’s weight plunged from 175 pounds to 139 in mere months. Michael was too weak to walk, and needed a motorized wheelchair to get around.

In mid-January, a family member told The ENQUIRER: “There’s word Michael’s cancer may have returned, but that it’s in another part of his body, not his throat!” Another source said: “It’s serious — and it’s putting an enormous amount of stress on Catherine. She’s living on cigarettes!"
