Met Gala Meltdown — The Night’s 10 Wildest Looks

The biggest names in fashion joined the most fashionable celebrities at last night's annual Met Gala in New York City — which has become a bigger red carpet showcase than the Oscars, Emmys and Grammys combined! The yearly party at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City is carefully curated by Vogue editor Anna Wintour, with the biggest stars wrangling for an invitation to show they have a vision that's both chic and artistic. As seen here, though, the Met Gala can mostly turn into a desperate bid for attention....

Katy Perry presumably had to stay in one place once she got inside, unless the alien princess had enough bodyguards to give her flowing outfit a wide berth!

Not to be outdone, Rihanna showed up in an even more flowing outfit that left her looking like a giant banana — and we'll just assume that she checked her coat at the door before even trying to mingle inside.

Miranda Kerr took the night's theme of "Manus x Machina: Fashion in the Age of Technology" and merged it with the Met Gala's 2015 theme of "China: Through the Looking Glass."

She was mostly seen as a computer-generated special effect in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" — but Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o showed off that she can be a special effect all on her own!

Michelle Monaghan looked tough in a wild outfit that was good for both cultural events and working at a slaughterhouse!
