Megyn Kelly Closer To Getting Bumped From ‘Today’ Slot

Megyn Kelly is closer to losing her "Today" time slot — with The National ENQUIRER getting the scoop on Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb's move to save their own sinking ratings!

The New York Post's "Page Six" column reports that network executives are getting closer to bumping Megyn to the tail end of "Today." That would move Kathie Lee and Hoda to the 9 a.m. slot, giving Hoda a straight run from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. after replacing disgraced host Matt Lauer.

“Hoda and Kathie Lee know that Megyn is a drain on their show,” a spy told The ENQUIRER in May, “and they’re waiting for the right opportunity to give their bosses an ‘it’s either her or us’ ultimatum.”

Ratings for Megyn’s nine o’clock hour of “Today” — with her replacing Tamron Hall and Al Roker — plummeted 28% in the valued 25- to 54-year-old demographic. That's left Hoda and Kathie Lee’s losing at least 19% of their audience, with some ratings periods costing them up to 26% of their audience.

NBC insiders are also furious that Megyn negotiated a sweet $23 million salary to drag down their morning numbers. That's in addition to $10 million spent on studio renovations and other costs on the ambitious newswoman. Meanwhile, some NBC staffers are reportedly eying a new morning star to take over completely for Megyn. A source spilled: “They’d love to see Rachel [Maddow] take her place!”
