Matt Lauer isn't ready to give up on his marriage — because the sex-crazed star needs a family to make a comeback on television!

"Matt's marriage is over," an insider told The National ENQUIRER, “but he is trying to save it for all the wrong reasons." The hypocritical "Today" host refuses to even consider retirement after being fired over a series of shocking sex scandals. Instead, sources said that Matt's still determined to fake his way into America's homes!

“Matt wants another job in television,” the source continued. “He never wanted to go out like this. He also realizes that reconciling with Annette would absolutely help him to land another gig. He thinks, ‘If Annette can forgive me, so can America.’”

But, said the insider, the only reason that Annette hasn't kicked Matt out of the house is because he is sleeping in a separate wing of their mansion: “She never has to see him, and she spends most of the day with her horses. Her feeling is to let the kids spend time with their dad — but Annette is now going to be living her life on her terms!”
