Matt Lauer Vs. Women Of ‘Today’ — Megyn Kelly & Ann Curry’s Revenge

Matt Lauer may be wondering who ratted him out in the sex scandals that got him fired from the "Today Show" — but insiders are saying that it could've been sweet revenge by jilted coworkers!

Top sources within the NBC News offices are reporting that Matt got hit with the humiliating accusations of "inappropriate sexual behavior" just as the hypocritical host was planning a big power grab. With Megyn Kelly sinking in the ratings, Matt was planning to bring Katie Couric back to the show!

“They would be willing to share the spotlight if it means bringing ‘Today’ back to the top of the heap,” said an insider — but now Matt is out the door just weeks after throwing Megyn under the bus! The ENQUIRER revealed Megyn was seething after her coworker said he "gets" why Megyn's a flop, and added that her numbers were a "real problem!"

"Megyn's a veteran of the FOX News wars," said an insider, "and nobody knows better how sexual harassment on the set can derail a career." But other NBC staffers believe that Matt can blame his furious former coworker Ann Curry for putting his job on the line — after she was fired from the show in 2012.

"Ann initially tried to exact revenge by telling 'Today' bosses that Matt was a snake with a wandering eye," said the source. "She told them what she knew of the rumors about Matt and Natalie [Morales], as well as those of his flirtatious relationship with a former blonde intern who worked for the show!"

Matt's troubles aren't over yet, either. Ann wrapped up her NBC contract in Jan. 2015, and insiders said that Matt is terrified that she'll get revenge with a tell-all book. “Ann has had a ringside seat to what viewers don’t know about Matt,” said a source. “She can really sting Matt if she writes all that she knows!”
