John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston arrive at the Los Angeles Premiere Of FX’s ‘American Crime Story – The People V. O.J. Simpson’
They had a horrible 2015, but John Travolta and Kelly Preston put on a brave show during the premiere for his "People V. O.J. Simpson" miniseries. John stars as defense attorney Robert Shapiro, who made National ENQUIRER headlines as part of the legal team that got disgraced football star O.J. off the hook for the 1994 murder of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson (along with Hollywood waiter Ron Goldman). But thanks to his recent gay sex scandals, John's made plenty of ENQUIRER headlines on his own!

The ENQUIRER had the scoop last summer when John's closely-guarded gay secrets were almost revealed in a shocking courtroom showdown – a move that would have been the ultimate betrayal for his wife of 24 years. “Kelly is beside herself with worry,” a source said at the time. “John might have to answer under oath if he sexually prefers men over women!” That was after a Santa Barbara, Calif., judge ruled the “Grease” star, 61, must go to court to answer questions from the attorney representing his former boyfriend, Doug Gotterba.

A civil suit filed against the actor by Doug was set to go to trial on Aug. 7 in Santa Barbara, Calif. Doug, 65, had worked as John’s pilot in the 1980s. He’d battled for two years to publish a book, “Travolta Exposed,” about their alleged homosexual relationship, which Doug said went on for six years before John married Kelly. The one-time lovers have been locked in a bitter legal battle over whether Doug signed a confidentiality agreement preventing him from telling all about their sordid affair.

But then a court document obtained by The ENQUIRER showed the legal action was halted on July 31. According to the papers, the case was dismissed “with prejudice” after Doug’s lawyer filed a petition to end the proceedings — with a source telling The ENQUIRER: “As far as John’s concerned, it’s all been put in the closet.”

John and Kelly's marriage was still under serious strain. The year had already started with The ENQUIRER catching John approaching another married man in a bizarre 3 a.m. meeting in a Florida gym! The court case only made things worse. "Kelly was furious at John," an insider told The ENQUIRER. These pics, however, suggest that John's work on a show about a Hollywood homicide has helped the two heal their rift — for now!
