The FBI had to admit that Comey "misstated" that Huma had sent "hundreds and thousands" of government emails to her pervy husband Anthony Weiner. Comey's letter, however, asked his former employees to not dwell on that recent embarrassment: "I'm not going to spend time on the decision or the way it was executed. I hope you won't, either."

Meanwhile, speculation continues over Comey's replacement, with Democrats suggesting they won't approve a new director until a special investigator is appointed to look into claims of Russia "hacking" the election by exposing secret emails from Hillary Clinton's campaign. Washington whispers currently claim that New Jersey governor Chris Christie and former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani are both up for the job.
