Chris Soules — the “Bachelor” star caught fleeing from a fatal car crash in Iowa — was constantly binging on booze to forget his former fame! Insiders have told RadarOnline.com that the hunky farmer — who tried to stay in the spotlight with a turn on “Dancing With the Stars” — never adjusted to leaving the bright lights of Hollywood and ending up back on the farm! “He’s quite the drinker,” local resident Robert Berry told Radar. “My friend told me that when she goes to her farm, she sees a string of empty beer cans all over the field…”

Soules had been farming near Arlington on the land that belongs to Berry's friend, where the locals had started to feel sorry for the faded reality star. Soules then became the talk of his small town after being arrested on April 24 for
leaving the scene of a fatal accident after hitting a tractor trailer. “I guess he was having trouble out of the limelight!” added Berry.

Other locals aren't so sympathetic, however — with one telling
Radar that Soules "sometimes talked down to people." Meanwhile, Soules was trying to remain in the spotlight as a motivational speaker — with his website still proclaiming: "I am proud to share and promote the American farmers' story. It is part of my life, and it is a narrative I am honored to tell."
