The horrific traffic casualty of Feb. 2015 happened shortly after the former Bruce Jenner had announced her transition into a woman — and left her battling a new legal battle after her SUV rear-ended Howe's car on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. Howe's Lexus was pushed into traffic, and was then fatally slammed into head-on by a Humvee.

“My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones,” said Bruce shortly after the accident. “It is a devastating tragedy, and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through.” California prosecutors later declined to charge the then-him with a misdemeanor manslaughter charge — but a series of lawsuits were soon filed.

Caitlyn later settled with Howe's family, but has now reportedly paid out an additional $800,000 to cover injuries to Hummer owner Peter Millesi-Wolf and family members inside the Hummer. That includes 74-year-old Elga Maurer, who suffered spinal injuries in the accident.

The incident reportedly helped contribute to Caitlyn's depression as Bruce continued with his transition. The fatal crash was ignored on Caitlyn's brief reality show, however. Now the settlement allows Caitlyn to get back to reviving her career, including talk of a turn on "Dancing With the Stars."
