Studio head Sherry Lansing reveals in the book that even Angelina's own father warned her about casting his daughter in the role. Jon Voight even recruited family friend Jane Fonda to say that Angelina may be too "fragile" to take on a leading role. Simon West, the director of "Tomb Raider," flew out to see her on the set of the thriller "Original Sin," and recalled how Angelina even volunteered to be monitored for drug use: "She said, 'I don't care if the studio wants to drug test me every day.'"

Franklin Meyer told The ENQUIRER about making "special deliveries" to Angelina's apartment in a Manhattan hotel during the late 1990s. "Angie was a client of mine for several years," said Meyer. "I sold her heroin and cocaine. One day she called me up and wanted me to drop by her place. That was her way of telling me she wanted me to bring her drugs. At the time, I had just bought a video camera and decided to bring it along."

These shocking images showed the extent of how drugs had already ravaged Angelina. "When I arrived, I gave her the drugs," said Meyer, "and then she gave me some money. Her face looked gaunt and she had needle marks all over her arms!" Franklin added that Angelina "didn't seem to mind" when he asked if he could shoot video of her. "A few minutes later, her father called. She talked to him about her mother [Marcheline Bertrand, who died at the age of 56 in early 2007, following a battle with ovarian cancer]."

Meyer also recalled disturbing details about how the rising star was living in squalor while risking her career. "One thing I remember," he said, "on Angelina's walls were several actual photographs of dead people — like crime scene photos. She must have gotten them from the coroner's office." And in another freaky tape seen by The ENQUIRER, Angelina launched into a wild confession about her passion for drugs!

"I've done coke, heroin, ecstasy, LSD, everything," said Angelina, while insisting that she "gave them up long ago." And while this new Hollywood tell-all once again dredges up Angelina's druggie past, the actress has previously confessed to her self-destructive behavior. As she told a "60 Minutes" interviewer in 2011: "I went through heavy, darker times, and I survived them. I didn't die young, so I'm very lucky."
