Angelina Jolie is facing a terrifying new cancer drama, despite undergoing grueling preventative surgeries, The National ENQUIRER has learned in a blockbuster world exclusive.
The Hollywood superstar had a procedure earlier this year in a bid to stave off the killer disease, but has pushed her body into early menopause — a crisis experts have warned can significantly increase the odds for early death!
“Angie thought she was doing the right, responsible thing, but now she faces a whole new set of dire consequences,” a family insider told The ENQUIRER.
In a heartbreakingly candid confession, the 40-year-old mother of six admitted the surgery to remove her ovaries as a preventative measure has triggered early menopause.
Menopause typically occurs in women after age 45 — and the national average is 51 years old, say experts.
A 2009 study obtained by The ENQUIRER from medical experts at the famed Mayo Clinic found that women who go through early menopause “experience an increased risk of overall mortality, cardiovascular diseases, neurological diseases, osteoporosis” and other ailments.
That’s deeply troubling for Angie, who famously had a double mastectomy in February 2013 after learning she carries the gene mutation BRCA1, which predisposes her to breast and ovarian cancer.
Tragically, her mother, grandmother and an aunt all died early from related cancers.
The “Maleficent” star had more surgery to remove her fallopian tubes and ovaries in March after a blood test found markers that “could be a sign of early cancer,” a source said.
Surgeons did find a benign tumor on one ovary, but no signs of cancer.
The globe-trotting humanitarian and director said the procedure was “brutal.”
Plunged into a new medical crisis, Angie and husband Brad Pitt fear for her future.
In a new interview, Brad, 51, said, “There’s many things that can go wrong and go many different directions.”
Added Angie, “You never know what a reaction is — you have to just make the choices you make in life.”
On top of her health issues, pals worry overworked Angie is wasting away.
As The ENQUIRER reported in its Aug. 24 issue, the Oscar winner has deteriorated to a mere 83 pounds.
At 5-foot-7, she ideally should weigh 130 to 140 pounds.
Low weight also can increase the risk of deadly heart disease!
One top medical expert, Dr. Stuart Fischer, told The ENQUIRER he believes Angie is suffering from cachexia, a wasting syndrome that can dramatically increase the chances of death from an underlying condition.
Meanwhile, Brad is so concerned he’s rushed in nutritionists, therapists, dietitians and other experts to try to help her, said a source.
But she refuses to slow down; and while she’s so underweight she suffers dizzy spells, Angie is insisting on traveling to Cambodia to direct her next film, “First They Killed My Father.”
Another informant worries Angie is a walking time-bomb because of other looming health problems.
“Sometimes she goes a whole day without eating a solid meal, and other days Angie sleeps until late afternoon because she’s so worn out,” the pal said.
“Friends worry that her time’s nearly up!”
