The “America’s Got Talent” judge handed over the big bucks to help fund the Humane Society International’s plan to rescue 200 pups from dog-meat breeding farms.
Instead, organizers hope for the pooches to find new homes in England, Canada and the U.S.

“These poor dogs have had the worst lives … so we’re desperate to get them out of those dreadful cages and show them love, soft beds and loving arms for the first time in their lives,” vowed a society bigwig.

Simon, of course, got tagged as Mr. Nasty for being the meanest judge on “American Idol,” but he also has a famously soft spot for dogs.
He’s incredibly close to his three Yorkshire Terriers, and says wolfing down a dog-burger is “like eating your friend!”
