Just like its aging cast members, the Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot is getting a facelift — and the stars are in on the joke!
The updated show, BH90210, will focus on what would happen if the actors got together to film a revival of the ’90s FOX hit, sources said — and spoofed their real-life selves!
“It’s going to be satire,” a mole snitched. “The characters in the script are over-the-top versions of their real-life personas, and their roles touch on stories reported in The National ENQUIRER!
“They’re poking fun at themselves!”
Actress Shannen Doherty will play a mega-diva, while Tori Spelling and husband Dean McDermott are portraying a cash-strapped couple fighting and flat broke, according to an insider.
Other original cast members returning to the show are Gabrielle Carteris, Jennie Garth, Brian Austin Green, Jason Priestley and Ian Ziering.
But one big challenge ahead of the August premiere will be how to pay tribute to cast member Luke Perry, who died suddenly in March after suffering a massive stroke.
“Luke’s tragic passing will be acknowledged in some way since he won’t appear alongside his longtime friends on the show,” the insider said.
