The Real Housewives of New York star described her latest horrific new health scare Jan. 3 on Twitter, where she revealed her flight nearly had to turn back when it turned out the food service included fish — despite Bethenny having called in advance to warn them about her severe allergy.
“Called airline mult x to say I have a fish allergy,” she wrote. “Got on & they’re serving bass. They couldn’t not serve it they said. Then they were turning around which I protested bc it would delay people. Cabin asked to not serve it & pilot made announcement to plane. That was fun. #epilife.”
The tweet drew negative reactions, with followers bashing Frankel for allegedly making a big deal of her allergy, and she defended herself.
“There are 7 allergen groups & fewer are airborne,” the reality diva explained in a followup tweet.
“The airlines and world needs to change. I was always self conscious about it & today didn’t help. I don’t care about the meal. Being trapped in a cabin w no windows w cooking fish is a death trap.”
As Radar reported in Dec. 2018, Frankel claimed her new boyfriend, Paul Bernon, saved her life by calling 911 after she fell unconscious in a restaurant after eating fish soup.
“To clarify: some allergens are transmitted by touch & air. Fish is one & is fatal,” Bethenny explained.
“The more exposure to them, the more susceptible,” she continued. “It’s not like an immunity thing where exposure means less susceptible. It’s opposite. I’ve always kept it quiet but that’s over now.”
While Frankel chose not to shame the airline by name, she did imply that she’s not about to let the matter simply drop out of the sky.
“This airline know who they are. And this policy will change if it is all I focus on,” she wrote. “I almost screwed everyone’s night up too, which the pilot delightfully announced.”
